Race History

2021 was the first time we organized a training camp for our runners in Mátraháza.
We fell in love with the place so much that we've been coming back every spring and autumn ever since.
Over the years, we've explored as many different trails as possible, experiencing not only the beauty of the Mátra Mountains but also the challenge of its relentless climbs!

During our autumn training camp in 2023, the idea came up: what if we organized a trail running race right here in Mátraháza? We already had the perfect venue. All we needed was a course.
We wanted to create a truly challenging race packed with steep climbs, so we brought together all the toughest sections we'd struggled through so many times before. Somehow, these climbs always led towards Kékes, and over the years, they'd become iconic to us. And just like that, our race had a name: Kékes Iconic Trail. Kékes Iconic Trail
